Wonderland Tire Expands AcuTread’s Reach

May 3, 2024

Customers throughout Tennessee and beyond now have access to AcuTread retreads thanks to a recent expansion at Wonderland Tire Co.’s plant in Lebanon, Tenn.

The plant, which has undergone several upgrades in recent months, produced its first AcuTread product this past February, according to Wonderland Tire officials. (AcuTread is the Byron Center, Mich.-based dealership’s proprietary retreading process.)

“Several of our customers were already buying AcuTread products because they saw the value of the premium AcuTread mold cure,” Rob Majewski, AcuTread technical director, told MTD. “Those AcuTreads were being produced at our Newport, Ky., plant and turnaround time was becoming less than ideal.”

With an AcuTread plant now in Lebanon, which is 30 miles east of Nashville, “we have improved our turnaround times” and will focus on “marketing this product to our current customers, as well as potential future business,” mainly within 100 miles of the plant.

“There is potential for us to expand that range, if necessary,” said Majewski, who added that the full range of AcuTread products will be manufactured in Lebanon.

“Wonderland has been very successful with the AcuTread product,” said Jason Cleveland, vice president of retreading operations, Wonderland Tire. “It’s an exclusive product that we manufacture ourselves and has proven to be a quality product. It offers many new tire features, such as matched tire diameters, splice-free, full-depth siping and excellent mileage and reliability.”

Wonderland Tire currently has four retread plants and is one of the largest retreaders in the country, according to MTD’s 2024 Top 50 Retreaders in the U.S. list, now available in the April issue of MTD.

Wonderland Tire’s president and CEO, Jon Langerak, was the recipient of MTD’s Tire Dealer of the Year Award in 2023.
