Full-speed ahead for Global Tire Expo  

What’s learned in Vegas won’t stay in Vegas. The Tire Industry Association (TIA) is offering educational sessions packed with take-home, practical advice at the first-ever Global Tire Expo - Powered by TIA. The expo will be held Nov. 2-5 in Las Vegas, Nev., as part of the 2010 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show.

Low rolling resistance, high expectations  

Green tires and pending government regulations were a major part of the recently completed 26th International Reifen Trade Fair at Essen, Germany. Guests from 127 countries, 600 exhibitors from 42 countries, and more than 18,000 buyers attended the fair.

Show of shows!  

Automotive Aftermarket Industry Week (AAIW) kicks off Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2009, in Las Vegas. Comprised of the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show, which includes the Tire Industry Association (TIA) Tires, Wheels & Equipment (TWE) section, and the Automotive Aftermarket Products Expo (AAPEX), AAIW will include more than 4,000 U.S. and international exhibits. The AAIW expects more than 100,000 attendees who will get a chance to preview more than 7,500 new products.

Dan Beach, the incoming president of the Tire Industry Association (TIA), knows retail. During his 40-year career in the tire industry, Beach ran retail operations for one of the world’s largest tire manufacturers, operated his own chain of stores and until the end of 2008 will continue to serve as CEO and president of the Tire Alliance Groupe (TAG), a buying group comprised of large regional tire dealerships that encompass more than 1,400 retail outlets throughout the United States.
