A case for casings  

Truck and OTR tire casings are in short supply, particularly out of Japan. That was the case even before an earthquake and tsunami devastated the country in March. Now, it’s just worse.

Next year, the Belleroc retread plant in Wyoming, Mich, will be ranked on its own merits. Its 2009 output was included in Treadroc’s “Top 100” listing.

Tip-top shape  

Domestic retreaders produced more than 13 million truck tire retreads last year, down 10% from the year before. By comparison, new replacement truck tire shipments totaled 12.5 million units, down 19.3%.
