The 1H09 financial results of almost all tire manufacturers were very ugly as low volume, inefficient use of facilities, plant closings and other restructuring costs led to large losses for Goodyear, Michelin, Continental, Bridgestone, Cooper, Sumitomo, Kumho and others.
