No relearn required

The Jeep Wrangler’s tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) uses radio and sensor technology to monitor air pressure levels. Sensors are mounted to each wheel as part of the valve stem and broadcast tire pressure data to a central receiver circuit inside the Wireless Control Module (WCM). If a low pressure condition exists, the WCM will send a request to illuminate the low pressure warning light and to sound a chime.

Navigating the Matrix

The 2009 Toyota Matrix’s tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) contains sensors that are installed in each tire and wheel assembly. The sensors send air pressure data to the tire pressure sensor antenna and receiver assembly. This data is then sent to the tire pressure monitor electronic control unit (ECU), which compares the measured air pressure with the specified pressure.

Amazing Expedition

The 2009 Ford Expedition’s tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) uses wheel-mounted tire pressure sensors that send information to the vehicle’s Smart Junction Box (SJB) once every 60 seconds when the vehicle is moving at speeds in excess of 20 mph.

Traverse carefully

The tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) on the 2009 Chevrolet Traverse displays both individual tire pressures and their locations on the vehicle’s Driver Information Center (DIC). The system uses several components: an Engine Control Module (ECM), Body Control Module (BCM), Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC), DIC, Remote Control Door Lock Receiver (RCDLR) and a radio frequency transmitting pressure sensor in each tire and wheel assembly.

Rocky Mountain high

Two tire pressure monitoring systems (TPMS) are available for the 2009 Chrysler Aspen. The Base TPMS consists of sensors attached to each wheel through the valve stem mounting hole; a Wireless Control Module (WCM); and an indicator lamp. The Premium TPMS consists of sensors also attached to each wheel; a WCM; three wheel sensor transponders located in three of the four wheel wells; an electronic display; and an indicator lamp.

Blazing a new Trail (carefully)

The 2006-08 Chevrolet TrailBlazer’s tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) displays individual tire pressure data and tire locations on its Driver Information Center (DIC) device. The TPMS uses a variety of components: the Powertrain Control Module (PCM), the Body Control Module (BCM), the Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC), the DIC, the Endgate Module (EGM), and others. The EGM is on models with the power sliding rear roof. On other models, the EGM is replaced by the Liftgate Module (LGM).
