Mike Manges is Modern Tire Dealer's senior editor. He is a three-time International Automotive Media Association award winner and holds a Gold Award from the Association of Automotive Publication Editors. He also edits MTD's acclaimed Commercial Tire Dealer section, as well as The Kovach Tire Report, MTD's sister publication. Mike has traveled the world -- including Asia, Europe and North America -- in pursuit of stories.
This summer, just for kicks, I bought a copy of "Economy Driving: How You Can Save Money In Everyday Car Use," a paperback published in 1956, for a whopping $1.

Last week in this blog, I asked for ideas about how the industry can more effectively educate consumers about tire pressure maintenance. Days later, Yokohama Tire Corp. posted an educational video on YouTube.

Last week, the Rubber Manufacturers Association (RMA) published the results of yet another tire pressure inflation survey and once again, they were quite disappointing. Only 9% of the 5,478 vehicles that participated in the survey had four properly inflated tires.
