The Tire Industry Association’s 57th annual Off-The Road (OTR) Tire Conference set an attendance record of 495 dealers, retreaders and suppliers. The conference took place Feb 15-18, 2012, in Rancho Mirage, Calif.

Just when you thought the state of the OTR tire market couldn’t get any worse, you’re right — it probably won’t. In terms of volume, the North American OTR tire segment has reached its lowest point in 10 years, a Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations LLC (BATO) executive told attendees at the 2010 Tire Industry Association OTR Tire Conference, held late February in Tucson, Ariz.

Twelve months ago, the North American farm tire market was buoyed by robust export demand, high commodity prices and other forces. Those factors are still in play, though perhaps not as strongly, as 2009 winds down.
