CTNA adds curb rib feature to truck tire

Continental Tire North America Inc. (CTNA) has enhanced the performance capabilities of its Continental HSR1 medium truck tire for pickup and delivery applications.

The tire now contains a curb/scuff rib feature in the 245/70R19.5 size. The feature "helps prevent damage conditions caused from curbing (and) cuts and abrasians, and protects the casing for greater retreadability," say CTNA officials.

The HSR1 is available in six additional sizes.

"All of the durability features of the HSR1 tire, including the new rib design, will help pickup and delivery fleets reduce their overall driving costs through increased tire life," says Clif Armstrong, CTNA's director of marketing for commercial tires, the Americas.
