Editor Bob Ulrich has earned a reputation as an industry expert thanks to his insightful, in-depth articles on the tire industry. Before joining Modern Tire Dealer in 1985, Bob earned a B.A. in English literature from Ohio Northern University. Also, he graduated from the University of Akron School of Law with a J.D. of Law. |

Since joining Modern Tire Dealer in 1979, Lori Mavrigian has held several key positions leading to her current title as Managing Editor. Her experience includes working on her college newspaper and a PBS television station. She attended the University of Akron, earning a B.A. in Mass Media-Communications. |

Bob Bissler (Senior Editor)

Bob Bissler is Modern Tire Dealer's senior editor. He began his interest in the automotive industry as a teenager helping his brother work on drag race cars, and after high school he worked in his other brother's body shop. He became part of the automotive aftermarket trade press in 1992, and has served on the editorial staffs of several automotive aftermarket and collision repair publications. In addition, he has been the editor of an automotive aftermarket technical publication. He earned a B.A. in Communications from the University of Akron. |

Mike Mavrigian (Contributing Writer)

Mike Mavrigian, Modern Tire Dealer's Technical Writer, has written for the magazine since 1977. He also owns and operates Birchwood Automotive Group, a business involved in a wide array of automotive aspects from building project vehicles to writing technical how-to service books. Among the many editorial awards he has received over the years, Mike earned the Jesse H. Neal National Business Journalism Award for “Best Technical Article” in 2009. The award-winning article, published in Motor magazine, discussed specific tire technology issues. Mike graduated from Youngstown (Ohio) State University and is certified member of the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE). |

Saul H. Ludwig writes on market trends and industry developments, collaborating with Modern Tire Dealer's Dealer Advisory Council in his monthly market report. He works as a managing director at McDonald & Co. Securities Inc. in Cleveland, concentrating on the tire and chemical industries. He majored in electrical engineering at Case Western Reserve University and received an M.B.A. from UCLA. |

Greg Smith (Publisher)

Greg Smith joined Modern Tire Dealer in 1979 as the senior editor of the magazine. In 1987, he was promoted to editor of Modern Tire Dealer and the Kovach Tire Report. Since 1988, he has been the Publisher of both publications in addition to running the company's Akron office. Greg graduated from the University of Akron with a B.A. in Mass Media-Communications. |

Midwest Sales Manager Michele Vargo graduated from Kent State University with a BBA in Marketing. She started her advertising sales career at the Akron Beacon Journal. In 1989 she began selling advertising in the tire industry trade press and joined Modern Tire Dealer in 1993. |

As Production Manager, her duties include working with advertisers and their advertising agencies. |

Pam Zsely joined the staff of Modern Tire Dealer in 1996 as Administrative Assistant. Along with her secretarial duties, she also handles the purchase of back issues and the much read Facts section of the magazine. Prior to joining the magazine she worked 20+ years as a production clerk at the Babcock & Wilcox Co. |
