'Pop' goes the Chrysler minivan

Chrysler or Dodge minivan drivers may complain of a squeak, creak, pop and/or clicking sound coming from the rear of the vehicle when driving over bumps or while turning. This repair involves replacing both rear spring hanger brackets. To correct the condition, follow these steps. NOTE: This repair applies to all-wheel drive (AWD) and front-wheel drive (FWD) minivans built between Sept. 16, 2002 (MDH 0916XX), and Sept. 28, 2002 (MDH 0928XX).

“I’m very frustrated because sizes are out of control,” says Tom Richey, owner of Laurel Gardens Tire Service in Pittsburgh, Pa. Richey will continue to watch his inventory closely.

The best never rest

Success has many fathers, as the saying goes. One sire to my company’s exponential growth (the Tires Plus stores) was our obsession with improving the way we did things. Part of our campaign included benchmarking the highfliers; and one way we did that was an occasional intel-gathering field trip.

Are you protecting your teammates?

Trust is essential in today’s business world. Every day people talk about how important trust is, yet few know how to create it. Trust comes when people know they can count on you. Trust comes when people know you’re there for them. When people protect each other, there is trust — it’s that simple. When you’re committed to others and their well-being, you can expect an extraordinary commitment in return.

“As we look to 2010, we see all the manufacturers starting to ramp up spending,” says Saul Ludwig. “There is a general feeling that consumer tire demand will increase.”

Analyzing the tire industry in 2009 and beyond

The drama brought about by the recession has yet to be played out, according to tire industry analyst Saul Ludwig.

Bob Ulrich's Editorial

A new year, with new possibilities
