President sets first-year tire tariffs at 35%

Additional tariffs of 35%, 30% and 25%, respectively, have been imposed on Chinese consumer tire imports for the next three years. The 35% tariff will go into effect for 12 months beginning Sept. 26, 2009.

Coalition: 'Duties would make tires non-competitive'

Despite no quota, Steelworkers call remedy vote a 'victory'

Even though they aren't getting the quota they demanded, the United Steelworkers say the remedy proposals for Chinese tire imports that the U.S. International Trade Commission recently announced are "a great victory."
