Groupe Michelin posted net sales of 5.3 billion euros for the first quarter of its 2012 fiscal year ended March 31, 2012. That compares to sales of 5 billion euros for the same period last year.

Yokohama Tire Corp. announced today it will increase prices by up to 8% on all of its consumer tires sold in the U.S., which include passenger, performance and light truck tires. The increase will go into effect March 1, with some in-line adjustments announced at a later date.

Yokohama Tire (Canada) Inc. raised prices on its consumer tires on May 1, 2011. According to the company, all pricing on unfilled orders placed before May 1 "will be re-calculated at the new prices."
