Lockout will have little effect in 4Q, says Ludwig

Free trade agreement with Korea affects tires

President Barack Obama has signed into law a renewal of the United States Generalized System of Preferences (GSP), which was part of a trade pact originally agreed to between the U.S. and the Republic of Korea in 2007. And the Tire Industry Association couldn't be happier about the result.

Brazil raises tariffs on U.S. tire exports 100%

In retaliation for the way the United States has treated its cotton exports, the Brazilian government has raised import duties on an extensive list of goods, including tires. And the World Trade Organization (WTO) has authorized the sanctions, which could total as much as $829 million.
