Yokohama plans a $53 million plant in India

Yokohama Rubber Co. Ltd. has announced it will construct a passenger tire plant in the state of Haryana adjacent to Delhi, India. The estimated investment in building the plant is 4.4 billion yen (approximately $53 million).

Titan deal with Goodyear in Europe falls through

Morry Taylor, chairman and CEO of Titan International Inc., didn't pull any punches when the "put option" Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. had for the Amiens, France, facility expired on Nov. 30, 2011. That killed the 2009 tentative deal Titan had made to acquire Goodyear's farm tire business.

Hankook to build plant in Indonesia

Hankook Tire Co. Ltd. has announced it will be investing $353 million in a new passenger, bus and truck tire manufacturing plant in Bekasi, Indonesia. More than 50% of the plant’s capacity will be earmarked for the North American market.
