Small OTR tire supply improving

Giant OTR tires may still be in short supply, but supply of smaller OTR tires, including 25-inch tires, continues to catch up with demand.

"There is a prominent overstock of small bias and radial tires right now," Gary Nash, director of OTR sales for Yokohama Tire Corp., recently told www.moderntiredealer.com.

Supply began catching up "as early as March 2008... the construction market slowed down really fast, starting with home-building demand."

Looking ahead to 2009, supply of 45- inch and 49-inch OTR tires also will probably improve, Nash added.
