Black's Tire opens retread plant in N.C.

Black's Tire Service has opened a new retread plant in Clarkton, N.C., says Ricky Benton, the Whiteville, N.C.-based dealership's top executive.

The 50,000-square-foot facility also will double as the company's commercial tire base of operations, as well as a distribution center.

The shop, which is equipped with new Goodyear retreading equipment, can easily produce 225 medium truck tire retreads per day, according to Benton. It replaces another, smaller plant. "We're trying to be a full-circle, cradle-to-grave supplier."
