Goodyear to drop Republic brand, boost Kelly

Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. is consolidating its brand offerings by dropping its Republic associate tire brand as of Jan. 1, 2010.

Profiting from the production change will be the company's Kelly brand, which will get increased focus and updated product offerings.

The company says dropping the Republic line will reduce manufacturing complexities and improve product supply of the company's remaining brands.

Goodyear's multi-brand G3 concept will now include the Goodyear, Dunlop and Kelly offerings instead of Goodyear, Dunlop and Republic. Distribution of the Kelly brand will be expanded and Kelly will now be available to the full Goodyear dealer network.

What Goodyear, Dunlop or Kelly tire would be the best to replase my Republic Steel Belted Enterprise tires? these tires are M+S P235/60R15 99H, with treads having 1 poly plie and 2 steel-belt plies. The sidewalls have 2 poly plies. Max load rating is 1709 lbs., and max pressure is 44 psi. These tires have performed flawlessly for 47456 miles and will miss the Republic brand tires.
