SEMA Show, Day One: Schrader launches EZ-Sensor
Schrader International introduced its EZ-Sensor programmable tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) at the 2009 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show today.
EZ-Sensors are designed to interface with the TPMS already installed in the vehicle, according to the company. They can be programmed using a variety of tools already used by many technicians, including the Schrader 21230 Diagnostic Tool, the Wheelrite TECH400 Plus from Bartec USA, and SPX’s OTC Tire Pressure Monitor Kit.
“Today, more than 120 different replacement sensor SKUs are required to service the increasing number of vehicles equipped with TPMS,” says Schrader. “With EZ-Sensor, tire dealers and service centers will only need to stock two EZ-Sensor SKUs to cover over 90% of the market, greatly reducing their inventory requirements.”
The EZ-Sensor features Schrader’s patented Snap-In TPMS valve, which the company says helps minimize installation time and eliminate sealing and torque issues sometimes associated with metal stem parts.
