SEMA Show, Day Three: Nexen adds 'N' tires

Nexen Tire America Corp. introduced two tires during the 2009 Specialty Equipment Market Association Show in Las Vegas, Nev. One was a maximum performance tire, the other a UHP tire.

The N9000 maximum performance tire features four wide channels, a straight center rib block, lateral grooves and a wide shoulder design. The result is handling ability in both dry and wet conditions.

The tire is available in 15 extra-load sizes from 215/35YR18 to 205/55WR16.

The N8000 features an asymmetrical tread pattern with four channels (one wider than the others) and a straight center rib. It also has a lateral groove design.

The tire is available in 23 extra-load sizes ranging from 215/35YR18 to 215/55WR16.

John Aben, senior vice president of sales and marketing, says that nine sizes will be added to the N7000 UHP all-season tire line. Four -- 255/40YR19, 275/40YR19, 245/45YR19 and 235/50WR18 -- are extra-load sizes that will be available in the second quarter of 2010.
