Toyota picks Goodyear Fuel Max for Prius

Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co.'s Assurance Fuel Max passenger tire (size P195/65R15) has been chosen to be standard equipment on the 2010 Toyota Prius.

"The selection...follows earlier announcements of the tire also being chosen for the 2010 Ford Fusion S and the exclusive fitment for the 2011 Chevrolet Volt," say Goodyear officials.

The Assurance Fuel Max contains a "fuel-saving tread compound that helps reduce energy loss as the tire rolls." It also contains Wet and Dry Tread Zones for all-season traction.

The Wet Tread Zone sports dual Aquachannel grooves for water evacuation, while the Dry Tread Zone "helps enhance handling and grip for confident maneuvering on dry pavement."
