Oil/lubrication service: $1.3 billion in sales
Independent tire dealers in the United States performed more than 37 million oil and lube jobs representing nearly $1.3 million in sales in 2009.
The 2009-2010 Modern Tire Dealer Automotive Service Survey breaks down oil/lubrication work per store. The service represents 7.6% of all automotive service dollars.
Eighty percent of the respondents performed this service, broken out per location as follows:
Average ticket price per job: $34.85
Average number of jobs per month: 133
Average yearly sales: $55,621
Average profit margin: 32%
Annual profit per location: $17,798
