Pep Boys expands in Houston market

Pep Boys has acquired seven service and tire stores in the Houston, Texas area. The stores were previously operated by My Mechanic, a full-service automotive repair chain in the Houston area since 1989.

All seven locations will offer Pep Boys’ full range of quality automotive maintenance and repair services and brand name tires.

“Our third acquisition this year furthers our stated strategy to grow through Service & Tire Centers,” says Pep Boys president and CEO Mike Odell. “We are very excited to add seven locations that will leverage the existing inventory, distribution and advertising employed by our eight Supercenters and one Service & Tire Center currently operating in Houston.”

Year to date, Pep Boys has added 102 Service & Tire Centers, expanding its total count to 155, which complement its 560 Supercenters nationwide.
