Auto Care Association Plans Trade Missions to Latin America

Registration is open for companies interested in joining trade missions to Latin America, hosted by the Auto Care Association. The trade missions will take place May 17-19, in Peru and June 21-22 in Guatemala with an optional stop in El Salvador, June 23-24.

Goodyear Says Results Are Outstanding Despite 4Q Loss

Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. posted net income of nearly $307 million on net sales of $16.4 billion for fiscal 2015 ended Dec. 30, 2015. That compares to income of $2.4 billion on sales of $18.1 billion for fiscal 2014.

Continental Expects to Break Ground for New Plant in a Few Months

Continental Tire the Americas LLC expects to break ground for a $1.4 billion commercial vehicle tire plant in Mississippi in a few months. The new plant will be located at a greenfield site in Hinds County off of Interstate 20, two miles from Clinton and 20 miles from Jackson.

Hankook’s Total Q4 Sales Are Flat While UHP Segment Grows

Hankook Tire Co. Ltd. posted net sales for its 2015 fourth quarter of 1.61 trillion won, a decrease of less than a percent versus the year-ago period. Operating profit saw a 2.4% year-over-year decrease to 238.3 billion won from 244.3 billion won. Sales of UHP tires were up 6.4%.
