TPMS: GM/Cadillac Escalade Series: 2007-16

The tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) on 2007 to 2016 GM/Cadillac Escalade Series system uses the remote control door lock receiver (RCDLR), body control module (BCM), four radio frequency (RF) transmitting pressure sensors, and the serial data circuit to perform the sensor learn mode functions.

The Sales Counter Moved Again: And the Sales Floor is Now on the Smartphone

The sales counter just moved. Well, it didn’t “just-move,” it’s been moving. In my early days of selling tires at retail, it all happened in a small area at the store known as the sales floor. Consumers called or visited the store where the initial details of a potential sale were discussed. Today, the initial discussion is digital. The salesperson at the store had a great deal of control because the product and pricing information resided with the salesperson at the store. Today, there’s plenty of product and pricing information available to the consumer before they call or visit.

‘Take Your Customers Out of the Tire Business’: Tips for Cementing Your Relationship with OTR Customers

During the Tire Industry Association’s (TIA) Off-the-Road Tire Conference held in Oahu, Hawaii, in February, Ron Tatlock, manager of training and engineering for BKT USA Inc., said a dealer can best serve his customers by first helping them make the proper tire selection. This includes the correct tire type with the best load capacity, the best tread depth for the job, and the best construction and compound.

Top Retreaders in the U.S.: ‘Tires Have Become a Commodity’

For the first time since Modern Tire Dealer began ranking retreaders in 1988, Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. is not in the No. 1 spot. The company did not specify the reasons for its lower production totals, but the overall retreading industry has been affected by high volumes of low-cost tires from China.

Back From the Near Dead: New Jersey Dealers Give it Another Go With My Support

Despite intents and purposes to the contrary, the New Jersey State Tire Dealers Association (NJSTDA) appeared to be on its deathbed on Sept. 15, 2015. The official announcement from longtime President and Executive Director Al Breese technically said the association was being put “on hold,” but there was nothing in the release that indicated the hiatus couldn’t be permanent.
