ASA and ESP target tire retailers

Posted on April 20, 2012

ASA Automotive Systems LLC has entered into an agreement with E-Solution Professionals Pty. Ltd. (ESP) to become a "Valued-added Reseller" (VAR). The newly formed partnership will leverage ASA’s resources to push forward the sale and implementation of ESP’s comprehensive e-commerce application for tire retailers.

ASA will market this offering under its eTireLink Retail brand. The application will allow retailers to:

* design and setup their own websites,

* show an extensive array of tires for sale (with the option to sell tires over the web), and

* promote their businesses with coupons and specials.

“To grow and increase revenue, the emphasis for independent tire dealers is leveraging the Internet to attract new business opportunities,” says Dave Vogel, vice president of sales at ASA Automotive Systems. “The new eTireLink Retail offering will give our dealers an affordable, simple-to-use eCommerce solution to aggressively expand their retails sales opportunities online.”

The program is simple to setup and maintain and can be used by individual tire stores or large retail chains with multiple locations. It sets itself apart by providing extensive inventory and pricing information for each retailer. It also includes access to comprehensive tire data, complete with detailed specifications and high resolution, 360-degree images of the tires.

Using 'Return on Sales' Measurement to Guide Purchases

Let’s look at two hypothetical tire and service stores, in the same town, a few miles from each other. Both stores do about $1.2 million in sales with about a third of their business in tires, the rest in service. Both see business is up and getting even better. It’s time to hire another salesperson. My advice to one of the owners is, “Go ahead, you need the extra help,” to which he thanks me for my expert opinion. To the other owner, I say, “It will make you lose money,” and he quickly tells me how wrong I am.

Anne Forristall Luke believes as the USTMA better explains the part it plays in consumer safety, consumers will be more likely to ask what part they need to play to keep travel safe.
