Midas ranks 25th on the Entrepreneur 500

Posted on February 25, 2014

Midas International Corp. was recognized as the top auto repair and maintenance franchise on Entrepreneur Magazine's "Franchise 500" list.

In 2013, Midas, a wholly owned subsidiary of TBC Corp., was ranked 31st on the "Franchise 500" and moved up six positions in 2014 to round off the top 25 companies.

“We have held positions on Entrepreneur’s "Franchise 500" for a number of years, and we are especially proud of this year’s position naming us the highest ranking auto service franchise on the list,” said Mike Gould, executive vice president and chief operating officer of Midas.

Entrepreneur Magazine judges each franchise by the same objective criteria. Ranking factors include, but are not limited to:

* financial strength and stability;

* growth rate; and

* size of the system.

The magazine also considers the number of years a company has been in business and the length of time it has been franchising.

"We are committed to making our franchisees successful in growing their businesses while expanding our footprint by adding new franchise locations with interested entrepreneurs," says Brant Wilson, senior vice president of the franchise group at TBC.

Earlier this year, Midas launched an aggressive new campaign that re-launched the iconic “Midas touch” branding. For more information about Midas Total Car Care program, visit www.midas.com. Midas also is on Facebook.

Midas offers brake, maintenance, tires, exhaust, steering and suspension services at nearly 2,250 franchised, licensed, and company-owned Midas shops in 13 countries -- including nearly 1,400 in the United States and Canada.

TBC's retail group operates more than 2,700 franchised and company-operated tire and automotive service centers under the brands Tire Kingdom Service Centers, Merchant's Tire & Auto Service Centers, NTB Tire & Service Centers, Big O Tires, Midas, and SpeeDee Oil Change and Auto Service.

M/T Tires are Having a Moment: Consumer Demand Is Blurring the Lines

There are off-road warriors who never let their vehicles or mud-terrain tires touch pavement. There are others who like to occasionally play in the dirt, but need their fun vehicles to do double duty to go to work or school. And increasingly, there are drivers with lifted trucks and mean-looking tires who chase the aesthetic more than the lifestyle their vehicle portrays.
