Hockey stars to shine for ANCO contest

Posted on April 1, 2014

Federal-Mogul Corp.’s ANCO Wipers brand is showing its support of youth hockey leagues across North America through an online video contest that will award $10,000 in youth hockey sponsorships to teams that best demonstrate their commitment to the game. ANCO is The Official Wiper Blade of the National Hockey League.

The ANCO “Future Hockey Stars” contest enables youth hockey teams to compete for sponsorships by visiting www.ANCOWipers.com and posting two-minute video entries.

Federal-Mogul will award a $1,000 ANCO Future Hockey Stars sponsorship to each of five finalist teams and an additional $5,000 grand-prize team sponsorship to one of the finalists based in part on votes cast by consumers who visit the ANCO website.

Video entries will be accepted at www.ANCOWipers.com from June 10 through July 15, 2014, and voting will begin July 29, 2014. Finalists will be announced Aug. 20, 2014, and the $5,000 grand-prize sponsorship will be awarded Sept. 24, 2014.

“Youth leagues are a great way for kids to show their passion for hockey and develop their athletic abilities in an environment that promotes sportsmanship and healthy living,” says ANCO Wipers Brand Manager Tracy Neil. “We know that the costs of supporting a team continue to rise and have developed this contest to help parents and team members stay engaged in this exciting and rewarding sport.”

The ANCO Future Hockey Stars contest is open to legal residents of the United States, District of Columbia, and Canada (excluding Quebec). All team members must be under the age of 20 and only one entry will be accepted per team.

For all rules and restrictions, visit www.ANCOWipers.com. The contest is not affiliated with the NHL.

Cost Pressures Will Likely Continue to Build

According to the results of our survey, demand for passenger and light truck replacement tires declined in March. Indeed, from a volume standpoint, the dealers reported they sold 0.8% fewer tires in March relative to the previous year’s period. The decline marks the third straight month of poor results versus the prior year’s period. However, on more a positive note, trends improved sequentially.
