Nissan wants Bridgestone run-flat tires

Posted on April 3, 2014

The Bridgestone Ecopia H/L 422 Plus RFT will be original equipment on select 2014 Nissan Rogue vehicles.

The run-flat tire is included with the available third row Family Package on 2014 Rogue S and SV models. It offers temporary mobility for a distance up to 50 miles at a maximum speed of 50 mph after experiencing a total loss of air pressure.

“A leader in its class, the Nissan Rogue is a perfect vehicle to showcase the outstanding benefits of Bridgestone’s Ecopia brand tires,” says Mike Martini, president of original equipment tires in the United States and Canada for the Consumer Tire Sales Division of Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations LLC. “The Ecopia H/L 422 Plus RFT is a unique, self-supporting tire that provides extended mobility, while also delivering impressive dry, wet and all-season traction.”

The tire, manufactured at the Bridgestone Corp. plant in Tosu, Japan, will be supplied to the Nissan Rogue in size P225/65RF17 100H.
