Discount Tire expands in Tennessee and Texas

Discount Tire has opened stores in Cleveland, Tenn., and Rowlett, Texas. The company now operates 15 stores in Tennessee and 230 stores in Texas.

The Cleveland store, which is the company’s first in that city, is managed by Alex Rachetts. He has worked for Discount Tire for 13 years. Thirteen of the 18 employees in Cleveland are new hires.

The Rowlett store is the first Discount Tire location in the city. Discount Tire says the store has five employees with plans to add more positions as the store grows. The store is managed by Clint Farr, who has been with the company for 19 years.

Discount Tire operates more than 875 stores in 28 states. The company is based in Scottsdale, Ariz., and does business under the trade name Discount Tire in most of the U.S. and America’s Tire in Oregon, and parts of Washington and California.

Discount Tire, which is part of the Reinalt-Thomas Corp., ranks No. 1 on the 2013 MTD 100.
