Alcoa Wheel & Transportation Products announced it has a newly designed website at www.alcoawheels.com with a renovated North America section that now focuses on optimal customer experience through quicker and more functional navigation, and there are details on the company’s recently launched Ultra One wheels.

The website’s updated homepage features streamlined navigation -- allowing customers and consumers to more easily find the information they need. Four scrolling headlines on the homepage will guide visitors to with information on:

  • The new Ultra One wheel;
  • How Alcoa is driving its customers’ bottom line;
  • What Alcoa can do for specific wheel types;
  • Why customers love Dura-Bright wheels.

Alcoa says the website update also offers more comprehensive details on specific products and their benefits. One new tab focuses on surface options, which assists users with better understanding of Dura-Bright, Dura-Flange, Mirror Polish, Clean Buff and Brush finish options.

Alcoa says visitors can also get key information on the world’s lightest aluminum wheel, the Ultra One. Unveiled in March 2014 at the Mid-America Trucking show, the 40-pound wheel is 47% lighter than steel wheels of the same size. The Ultra One wheel can help save up to 1,400 pounds per rig, enabling fleets to carry more goods while meeting stringent federal emissions regulations, notes Alcoa.

According to the results of our survey, demand for passenger and light truck replacement tires declined in March. Indeed, from a volume standpoint, the dealers reported they sold 0.8% fewer tires in March relative to the previous year’s period. The decline marks the third straight month of poor results versus the prior year’s period. However, on more a positive note, trends improved sequentially.

New ATD Mixing Center Has Capacity for Almost 1 Million Tires

American Tire Distributors Inc. (ATD) has opened its fourth regional mixing center in the U.S. Large enough to hold nearly 1 million tires, the mixing center in the Dallas/Fort Worth area will replenish the inventories of 32 ATD distribution centers in the Southwest.

TRMG advises selecting the appropriate repair unit, either a one- or two-piece repair, based on repair material manufacturer recommendations. “For injuries with an angle greater than 25 degrees, depending on repair manufacturer, use a two-piece repair unit system.”
