Tire Consultants adds four industry veterans

Posted on May 21, 2014

Tire Consultants Group LLC (TCG), a consultancy that specializes in retail tire branding, marketing and retail dealer segmentation programs, has added veteran tire industry executives David Conley, Dennis Krupa, Jack Kim and Tom Adams to its team.

Conley has been named to oversee the company’s commercial medium truck, agriculture, off-the-road and industrial tire segments.

He has over 43 years of experience in the tire industry in regional and national management positions. In addition to his roles in the tire industry, Conley created and managed a tire distribution program for a national footprint wheel distributor. With Dunlap & Kyle Co. Inc., Conley gained extensive experience in product planning; he worked with global and U.S. tire manufacturers on brands such as Hankook, Cooper, Sumitomo, General and Kumho..

Krupa will lead product conception, planning, development and manufacturing.

Krupa has held senior industrial designer positions at B.F. Goodrich Co., Bridgestone and Firestone, and was a senior global industrial designer for Hankook Tire Co. Ltd. Krupa has an M.A. in sustainable design/product planning. In addition, he led early adoptions of 3D modeling, photorealistic rendering and 3D printing technologies at Hankook and Bridgestone/Firestone. He has been awarded 15 U.S. patents in tire design for B.F. Goodrich, Bridgestone/Firestone, and Hankook. TCG says Krupa also brings strong proficiencies in ideation/product planning, development, and manufacturing.

Kim will specialize in U.S. market introduction and promote growth of imported brands.

He has held C-level positions in the tire industry in 17 of his 36 years, all with Hankook Tire. Kim was part of the planning team that brought Hankook Tire to the U.S. in 1982. During his U.S. tenure with Hankook he held roles ranging from general manager to executive vice president and COO. TCG says Kim brings extensive knowledge of and successful experience in U.S. market introduction, penetration, brand building and growth of import brands.

Adams has been appointed to oversee forecasting and project management.

In his 30-plus years in the tire industry, Adams’ roles have ranged from tire factory industrial engineer to senior sales and marketing executive. He served as sales operations director at Treadways Corp. when the company was sole marketer of the Sumitomo brand and four highly valued proprietary brands. Adams went on to a senior management post at Giti Tire and played a key role in raising the profile and volume of the company’s brands.

“With these industry professionals assuming key roles within the company, Tire Consultants Group is well positioned to assist its clients in targeting opportunities for growth and helping them to achieve their sales and marketing goals,” says President Skip Viola.
