The traditional gift for the 10th wedding anniversary is tin or aluminum. According to, the pliability of tin and aluminum "is a symbol of how a successful marriage needs to be flexible and durable."

The Tire Choice and Total Car Care is both flexible and durable. Ten years after opening the doors of four stores at once, co-founders Dan and Diane Hennelly celebrated the landmark day without much fanfare.

Before you knew it, Tire Choice was back to its customer-centric, business as usual approach to keeping Florida's drivers safe and moving forward.

The 35-store, Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based chain was started by the Hennellys and a small group of associates on May 21, 2004.

"We are very proud of what our associates have built in just 10 short years," says Dan, chairman and CEO of Hennelly Tire & Auto Inc., which does business as The Tire Choice and Total Car Care. Dan’s wife, Diane, is the company’s vice chairman and chief financial officer.

Diane Hennelly came up with the name The Tire Choice as part of a business class project at the University of Miami, where she graduated with national honors. Dan and Diane are winners of the Modern Tire Dealer's 2013 Tire Dealer of the Year Award.

What's next for the Hennellys? More growth. perhaps as many as 100 stores.

At the rate they are growing, they may reach 100 by their silver anniversary.

Hennelly Tire & Auto is No. 31 on the MTD 100 list of the nation’s top independent tire dealer chains. For more information on the company, check out these links:

Brake Jobs Help Monro's Existing Stores Boost Sales

The fact that overall sales at Monro Muffler Brake Inc. increased in the first quarter of fiscal 2018 is hardly news. The company's aggressive approach to acquisitions helps it continually add to the sales column. But in the latest quarter, Monro's existing, comparable stores helped the bottom line, too.
