Discount Tire expands in two states

Discount Tire has opened stores in Tucson, Ariz., and Charlotte, N.C. The company now operates 70 stores in Arizona and 31 stores in North Carolina.

The Tucson stories the company’s 11th in that city and has 11 employees. The store is managed by John McGuckin, who has worked for the company for 24 years.

The Charlotte store is the company’s seventh in that city. The company said the store has 10 employees, nine of which are new hires. The company plans to add four part-time positions. The store is managed by Chris Moody, who has 15 years with the company.

Discount Tire operates more than 875 stores in 28 states. The company is based in Scottsdale, Ariz., and does business under the trade name Discount Tire in most of the U.S. and America’s Tire in Oregon and parts of Washington and California.

Discount Tire is part of the Reinalt-Thomas Corp. and ranks No. 1 on the 2013 MTD 100.
