ASA members: Sign up today for TechAuthority

Posted on June 30, 2014

The Automotive Service Association (ASA) announced that it has extended the deadline to sign up for the member benefit of subscribing to Mopar’s TechAuthority Online at a discount.

ASA members who missed the initial sign-up deadline are now eligible to enroll for a 10-month subscription to receive TechAuthority access July 2, 2014 (activation date) through May 4, 2015. The cost for the 10-month, full-access subscription is only $100, and ASA members must sign up for the ASA benefit by today, June 30, 2014.

“We’ve had a tremendously positive response to this unprecedented ASA benefit. So much so, we had to find a way to make it available to more of our members based on demand,” said Dan Risley, ASA president and executive director.

Individual 12-month subscriptions to the site normally sell for $1,800. (A 30-day subscription sells for $250.) Mopar’s TechAuthority Online can be used to access diagnostics, flash/reprogramming files, wiring system diagrams, parts catalogs and more.

To take advantage of this special offer, call ASA headquarters at (800) 272-7467, ext. 361 (toll free); or send an email to: ASAspecials@ASAshop.org.

Cost Pressures Will Likely Continue to Build

According to the results of our survey, demand for passenger and light truck replacement tires declined in March. Indeed, from a volume standpoint, the dealers reported they sold 0.8% fewer tires in March relative to the previous year’s period. The decline marks the third straight month of poor results versus the prior year’s period. However, on more a positive note, trends improved sequentially.
