Rasey brings his OTR tire wisdom to BKT

Posted on July 2, 2014

Balkrishna Industries Ltd. (BKT) has hired Shawn Rasey to preside over its BKT Americas OTR Division. The company says the move expands and bolsters its commitment "to build a world class mining and construction OTR tire business."

As president of the division, Rasey oversees the OTR tire market in the Americas. He reports to Rajiv Poddar, the parent company's joint managing director.

Rasey is based out of the group's new headquarters in Brentwood, Tenn., and can be reached at shawn.rasey@bkt-tires.com.

A tire industry veteran for more than 35 years, Rasey most recently worked as a consultant for Redroe LLC from 2012-2013. Prior to that, he was vice president of mining solutions for Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations LLC.

Most of his 35 years' experience in the tire industry has been dedicated to the construction and mining segments. During his 20-year career with Bridgestone, he helped increase sales and market share during "a dynamic growth period in the OTR tire industry," according to BKT.

"Rasey brings an enormous wealth of management experience, as well as OTR specific industry expertise, that bridges a wide span of duties in the OTR industry: sales and marketing; finance; distribution and transportation; product planning and development; computer operations; auditing; inventory management; manufacturing; field engineering and technical expertise; and, finally, customer service in the OTR and mining industries."

Rasey also worked in Yokohama Tire Corp.'s OTR tire marketing division from 1985-1987.
