Chris Forsberg grabs his 5th podium of the Formula Drift season

Posted on July 21, 2014

For the 5th time this season Hankook Tire driver Chris Forsberg was on the winner’s podium this past weekend at Evergreen Speedway in Monroe, Washington having secured a third place finish at Formula Drift Round 5: Throwdown.  Forsberg’s third place finish marks his fifth consecutive podium appearance of the season.
With the weather cooperating all weekend and an at capacity crowd in attendance, Forsberg in the Hankook Tire/CFR Nissan 370Z battled his way from Top 32 on Saturday making it to third place on the podium once all racing was said and done.  Hankook Tire teammate Fredric Aasbo finished the weekend just behind Forsberg in fourth place.  Forsberg’s latest podium keeps him in first place overall in the 2014 Formula Drift Professional Championship points race.  Teammate Aasbo currently sits behind Forsberg in second place in the points race.
“The Hankook Ventus R-S3 tire has driven us to a record shattering 5th consecutive podium finish,” said Forsberg. “They are without a doubt the best and most consistent tire on the market.”
All of Hankook’s Formula Drift drivers race on Hankook’s Ventus RS-3 Extreme Performance tire.  The Ventus R-S3 is designed for serious sports car, sports coupe and performance sedan enthusiasts looking for race tire-like traction on the street or for use in autocross, drifting or track events.
Forsberg’s podium finish also keeps Hankook Tire in the lead in the 2014 Tire Championship standings after five rounds completed so far this season.
“Chris and his team are on point this season. Five podiums in a row is an amazing achievement and something Chris and Chris Forsberg Racing should be proud of,” said Paul Jho, Hankook Tire America Corp. Motorsports Marketing Manager.  “Right now Hankook Tire is first in the Professional Competition points standings and first in the Tire Championship points standings…I can’t wait for Round 6!”
Formula Drift heads to Texas next for Round 6: Showdown at Texas Motor Speedway on September 12th and 13th.

The tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) control unit in 2007 to 2013 Honda CR-Vs, like the 2011 above, monitors all four tires and the system itself. If it detects less than 24 psi in a tire, it alerts the driver by turning on the low pressure indicator and setting a diagnostic trouble code (DTC) in the control unit. When the tire pressure is increased to more than 28 psi and the vehicle is driven above 28 mph, the control unit will turn off the indicators and store the DTC(s).

TPMS: Honda CR-V 2007-2013

When a tire pressure sensor or control unit is replaced on a 2007-2013 Honda CR-V, or a known-good wheel is substituted, the ID(s) of all four tires’ sensors must be memorized by the TPMS control unit. After memorizing the sensor ID(s) or doing a tire rotation, the mounting location of sensors 1, 2, 3 and 4 must be determined. See reset procedures.

Nokian Extends its All-Season Lineup

Winter tires may have brought Nokian Tyres plc to North America, but they aren’t enough to pave the path to the brand’s growth here. The tire maker knew it needed to invest in all-season products.
