Continental Adds New Line of Ameri*Steel Truck Tires

Posted on June 16, 2016

Continental Tire the Americas LLC is launching a new line of commercial vehicle tires for 2016 branded Ameri*Steel by General Tire.

The company says the new line of long haul and regional products pays homage to past General Tire commercial truck tires and includes drive and steer tires engineered to combine competitive affordability and reliability.

“We’re very excited to offer a line of products for our customers who want a balance of both affordability and performance to suit their needs,” says Alex Chmiel, marketing director for commercial tires for Continental. “We recognize the market need for this level of product, and we’ve stepped up to make a high-quality line that will be produced locally here in the USA."

The Ameri*Steel S380A long haul steer tire features a decoupler groove designed to extend tread life and consistent performance in over the road applications. The Ameri*Steel D460 long haul/regional drive tire offers flexible, long lasting performance and reliability, the company says.

The regional tires in the line include the Ameri*Steel S360 all-position design for performance and competitive abrasion resistance. The Ameri*Steel D450 drive tire design delivers optimal traction for those customers needing an open shoulder design, the company says.
