Hercules Strengthens Warranty Program in 3 Ways

Posted on January 10, 2017

Hercules Tire & Rubber Co. beefed up its warranty program in three ways on Jan. 1, 2017. Road hazard coverage for mud tires and commercial traction tires is just one part of the expanded program.

The company says the enhancements to its limited protection policy enable dealers to offer "what is arguably the industry's most comprehensive coverage on passenger and light truck tires." The expanded program covers more products and extends more protections to consumers. As a result, dealers "can give and receive more confidence" with Hercules tires sales in three ways.

1. Road hazard protection.

Hercules now offers limited road hazard protection on all new Hercules branded passenger and light truck tires – including mud tires and commercial traction tires. The brand’s Road Hazard Protection Program promises free replacement for two years or the first 50% of tread life if a tire fails due to a road hazard during on-road use.

2. Workmanship and materials.

Hercules is also offering no-charge replacement during the first 50% of tread life for tires that become unserviceable due to defects in workmanship and materials. Like the road hazard program, this coverage extends to all passenger and light truck tires sold under the Hercules brand name.

3. 30-day test drive program.

Now, all premium positioned tires – including all light truck offerings – are part of Hercules’ 30-Day Trust Our Ride Test Drive Program. The program gives consumers the option of exchanging their tires within 30 days of purchase, thereby giving the dealer an opportunity to recommend Hercules Tires with even more confidence.

What’s not covered

A few products are excluded from road hazard coverage, according to the company, a wholly owned subsidiary of American Tire Distributors Inc. The products not covered are Hercules all-steel construction tires and polyester-steel specialty trailer tires. (Editor’s note: An earlier MTD story incorrectly reported these tires were covered.)

In addition, the Hercules Mileage Coverage Plan is still in effect for most passenger and light truck tires. Complete details can be found in the Hercules Tire Limited Protection Policy.
