Alliance Tire Group (ATG) has opened a 202,000-square-foot warehouse in Savannah, Ga.

The company built the state-of-the-art facility to permit high efficiency operations such as cross-docking and enhanced put-away systems, according to John Mancinelli, vice president of operations for Alliance Tire Americas Inc.

“Our new location is ideally situated near the Port of Savannah and is also close to major OE and replacement tire customers,” says Mancinelli says.

“Just as our tires are purpose-built to excel on the job, our new warehouse was specifically outfitted and situated to reflect lessons learned from years of serving customers in the tire business around the world. With our new location, streamlined systems and configurable layout, we will be able to get tires to our customers more quickly and efficiently than ever.”

Mancinelli says the warehouse’s nine-person staff draws on decades of experience in top logistical operations, including FedEx and the U.S. military.

The new ATG Savannah warehouse will replace ATA’s Memphis, Tenn., warehouse slated for closure in 2017. The Savannah warehouse is stocking Alliance, Galaxy and Primex OTR tires. The new facility is also a shipping point for ATG’s new Constellation brand of truck tires.
