RMA's Initial Tire Shipment Projections Indicate 0.4% Growth

Replacement consumer tire shipments will be up in 2017 compared to last year, according to the Rubber Manufacturers Association (RMA). So will original equipment passenger tire shipments.

The RMA projects overall U.S. tire shipments will increase by 1.4 million units in 2017, a slight increase of 0.4%. Here are the rounded numbers (the percent change may indicate an increase even though the numbers appear the same):
