Merlin 200,000 Mile Shops Offer Online Tire Sales

Posted on March 20, 2017

Merlin 200,000 Mile Shops has added an online tire shopping tool to its website that gives consumers a good-better-best recommendation.

The online tire wizard is "designed to make tire shopping easier and more convenient," Merlin 200,000 Mile Shops says. The company, formerly known as Merlin Muffler & Brake, is owned by Driven Brands, the same company that owns Meineke Car Care Centers and other automotive service retailers.

When consumers go to www.merlins.com/tires, they first select their preferred Merlin shop, then search for tires using vehicle information or tire brand. Shoppers see the good-better-best recommendations, but also can browse through all of the tires and brands available. Merlin, which has focused its in-store tire sales on Continental and General brand tires, offers other brands online, including Goodyear, Cooper, Pirelli, Bridgestone and Uniroyal — as evidenced by a trial search on the website.

Among the benefits the company highlights for its online shopping tool is "low internet pricing" without extra shipping fees and the matter of payment. Customers pay in-store at the time of installation.

Merlin says its 200,000 mile warranty is included with the purchase of Continental and General brand tires. Members of the store's Drive for 200,000 Alliance reward program can accumulate rewards toward the purchase of Continental and General tires.

The company's four-year road hazard plan is available for purchase online, or in store at the time of installation.

Ray Munoz, general manager of Merlin 200,000 Mile Shops says, “We know that many shoppers like to research tire choices online, and our tire wizard will allow them to do that at their convenience, on their time schedule. We’ve been able to keep prices low by eliminating added tire shipping charges.”
