Plaza Tire Service Inc. has opened its first store in Springfield, Mo., which brings the company to 61 stores in four states.

The Springfield store is the Plaza Tire Service’s third new outlet in 2017. The company opened its 60th store in Moberly, Mo., in March and a store in O’Fallon, Mo., in January.

The newest store is located at 2867 East Sunshine Street in Springfield. The facility is a remodel of a previous automotive business.

“When we purchase and remodel a building, we work to ensure it has the same look and functionality of our newly constructed stores,” says Scott Rhodes, vice president.

“Our stores are designed with efficiency and openness in mind. We want a good workflow for our employees, and we want our customers to be able to see what’s happening with their vehicles.”

The Springfield store measures approximately 6,000 square feet and has six bays and seven employees. Customer amenities include complimentary WiFi service.

Shop equipment includes the Quick Check vehicle inspection system by Hunter Engineering Co. which streamlines the initial inspection of various vehicle systems, including tread depth, alignment and brake force. The company stocks a wide array of tires from name brands, including Bridgestone, Michelin, Firestone, BFGoodrich, Yokohama, Falken, Nokian, Dick Cepek, Hankook, Kumho and more.

“Plaza Tire Service is a Missouri company, and more than 40 of our stores are located throughout the state,” says Mark Rhodes, president. “The Springfield area is a logical extension of our business, and we are excited to be a part of this thriving area.”

Plaza Tire Service is a family-owned company based in Cape Girardeau, Mo., with outlets in Missouri, Illinois, Kentucky and Arkansas.  Founded in 1963 by Vernon Rhodes, the company is owned today by his sons – Mark Rhodes and Scott Rhodes.

Plaza Tire Service ranks 16th on the 2016 Modern Tire Dealer 100 list of the top independent tire retailers in the United States.

Weekday hours for the new Springfield location are 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and the store is open 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Saturdays. To reach the store by phone, dial (417) 882-2006. Customers can get an instant tire quote, access coupons and see special offers anytime at
