Goodyear Is the One and Only Fortune 500 Tire Manufacturer

There's only one tire maker that can call itself a Fortune 500 company. Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. has been on the list of America's largest companies ever since the list began in 1955.

In 2017, Goodyear ranks at no. 184. with $15.2 billion in revenue in 2016. Goodyear is the fourth-largest company in Fortune's motor vehicles and parts category, behind General Motors Corp., Ford Motor Co. and Lear Corp.

The Fortune 500 is made up of businesses that are incorporated in the U.S. and operate here. See the list.

Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. is ranked no. 743 on the 2017 edition of the list, with $2.9 billion in revenue.

Brett Ponton Will Take Over at Monro

John Van Heel is leaving Monro Muffler Brake Inc. after 15 years with the company, the last five as its CEO. He will be replaced by Brett Ponton, whose career includes time at Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co., where he rose through the ranks and eventually served as vice president of marketing for the North American tire division and managed more than 800 retail locations.

Simple Tire Adds Another Delivery Option for Online Tire Buyers

Simple Tire LLC has added a third delivery option for customers of its online sales platform. They can ship their tires to any of the 1,800 FedEx Office locations in the U.S. But Simple Tire’s real goal is to redirect those customers to one of its installation partners.
