Tyrexpo Asia Hits the Ground Running

There was plenty of buzz on the first day of the Tyrexpo India and GarageXpo Asia shows, which were held concurrently July 11-13, 2017, at the Chennai Trade Centre. The co-hosts welcomed regional industry players to India's leading platform for all things related to tires and automotive service.

At the opening ceremony, Baldeep Singh, head of Indian-based SingEx Exhibitions, shared his tire and automotive aftermarket forecast with attendees. He also was on hand for the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between SingEx Exhibitions and the China United Rubber Corp. (CURC); the two companies will officiate the co-location of RubberTech, a leading international exhibition on rubber technology in China, with Tyrexpo 2018 in both India and Africa.

The three-day exhibition opened with a Lamp Lighting Ceremony officiated by key officials. (Visit the Tyrexpo Facebook page for more event photos.) In other show highlights on day one:

* Satish Sharma, chairman of the Automotive Tyre Manufacturers Association (ATMA) delivered his keynote session at the TyreTalk Seminar area.

* Management from SingEx and CURC, with Satish Sharma, chairman of ATMA, answered questions posted by media at a press conference.

* Kaushik Madhawan, director of mobility practice for Frost & Sullivan, talked about how the radialization of commercial vehicle tires will affect fleet operators.

* Stamford Tyres International Pte Ltd. introduced its Sumo truck tire range and Archilles passenger and motorcycle tire lines. The tires will be distributed by Multistrada in India.

Shandong Linglong Tyre Co. Ltd. showcased its Benchmark, Infinity, Green-Max, Crosswing and Atlas brands in its booth. For more information, click here.
