Omni United (S) Pte. Ltd. and its Radar tires brand ambassador Jodi Ewart Shadoff have launched the “Birdies for BCRF” program to raise funds for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation throughout October 2017.

Through this program both Radar tires and Shadoff, a Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) golfer, will be donating $100 each to BCRF for every birdie that Jodi makes in her tournaments during the month of October 2017 (officially recognized as the Breast Cancer Awareness Month).

Additionally, the opportunity to pledge a specific dollar amount for every birdie that Jodi makes during the month of October is open to other companies and individuals. Donation categories are available at different levels ($100, $50, $25,$10) for each birdie achieved throughout all or some of the tournaments. Those who want to pledge/donate can click here https://pledgeit.org/birdies-for-bcrf .

The program is being run through BCRF’s partner organization, Play for P.I.N.K., a grassroots organization dedicated to raising funds for breast cancer research through sporting and lifestyle events, donating 100% of all proceeds to its sole beneficiary, the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF). BCRF’s Play for P.I.N.K. initiative has raised nearly $50 million to date and currently encompasses 300 tournaments across 30 states, with over 30,000 golfers, guaranteeing that “Birdies for BCRF” will get broad and targeted exposure.

“It is an honor for me to be associated with Omni United and Radar tires in supporting and advancing the mission of BCRF,” says Shadoff. “In addition to wearing pink during the month, I am hoping to go above my average of 20 birdies per tournament and make as many birdies as I can during October, to raise lots of funds for the BCRF. I hope others will engage in this challenge and join us as well.”

Shadoff is playing in the following tournaments in October :

Sept. 28 – Oct. 1: McKayson New Zealand Women’s Open, Auckland, New Zealand

Oct. 19 – 22: Swinging Skirts LPGA Taiwan Championship, Taipei, Taiwan

Oct. 26 – 29: Sime Darby LPGA Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

“We have always appreciated the efforts of Omni United and Radar tires. We are thankful for their collaboration over the last six years which has helped fund critical research and touched lives in many ways,” said Myra Biblowit, CEO and president of BCRF.

Says GS Sareen, founder and CEO of Omni United: “One of the pillars that Omni United is built on is giving back to society and over the years Radar Tires has started to be recognized as a brand that has been persistently making a positive impact on peoples lives. Breast cancer is a cause that has been close to our heart and we will continue to contribute and support the mission of BCRF and the great work they do. I would like to invite our partners, customers, and the public in general to join us in this initiative and pledge along us.”

In 2011, Omni launched “Mobilizing Hope”, a corporate alliance with the BCRF that has included either donations for each Radar tire sold or one-off contributions. This year is the sixth consecutive year that Omni United will support BCRF. To date, the campaign has raised and donated over $1.1 million to BCRF’s mission of preventing and curing breast cancer by advancing the world’s most promising research. This contribution has funded approx. 22,000 hours of some of the world’s most promising and innovative research towards preventing and curing breast cancer in our lifetime.

Over the last six years Omni United and Radar tires has supported BCRF’s cause not just through monetary donations but also through sponsoring and undertaking numerous initiatives to spread awareness for this cause and to bring the work of BCRF to the forefront of society. Some of the initiatives include:

  • launching a limited edition “pink sidewall” tire, sold through Sears Auto Centers;
  • encouraging our customers, tire distributors, dealers and retailers throughout the world to support the “Mobilizing Hope” campaign by providing them with in-store displays, pink ribbons and other awareness materials to distribute among customers;
  • displaying the logo of the BCRF on all Radar Tires motorsports team’s racing cars and gear;
  • supporting the BCRF in all international tire fairs and other events in which Omni United and Radar Tires participates; and
  • launching awareness-related programs with brand ambassador Jodi Ewart Shadoff, especially during Breast Cancer Awareness month.

Omni United’s flagship brand Radar tires signed Jodi as its brand ambassador in April 2016.

Radar tires are sold globally in over 80 countries across 20,000 dealers. All Radar tires have a distinct labeling identifying the product as supportive of The Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
