Colony Tire Purchases Three Outlets in Virginia

Posted on October 5, 2017

Colony Tire Corp. has purchased three tire outlets in the Lynchburg, Va., market. Glenn A. Trent Inc., dba Glenn A. Trent Tire & Wrecker Co., will now do business as Colony Tire. Lynchburg Tire Corp. and its two locations also will merge with Colony Tire.

Partnering with Colony Tire will allow Glenn Trent to expand its product line and provide more extensive services to its existing customer base, effectively tapping into a vast inventory and expediting the response time to fleet needs.

“We are extremely honored that Glenn Trent has given us the privilege to service his customer base in Lynchburg," says CEO Charlie Creighton. "When you grow a company like this from the ground up, working day in and day out for 74 years, it becomes more than just a business -- it’s your life legacy.

"Glenn’s work ethic is unprecedented, and at 96 he still goes on road calls regularly, just to make sure the customer is taken care of, in a manner that he would approve of. This level of customer service is hard to find in this day and time, in any business."

Lynchburg Tire has two locations, one in Lynchburg and one in nearby Madison Heights.

“In the tire business, it is always best to develop your relationships with customers, vendors, and manufacturers, and Lynchburg Tire’s relationships have made them successful," says President Scott Creighton. "Joining forces with Colony Tire allows them to expand their product line and provide for their customers better than ever before.”

Colony Tire, based in Edenton, N.C., is one of the largest tire dealers in the South, with 30 locations across Virginia, North Carolina and South Carolina. The company also runs four wholesale distribution centers. Charlie Creighton was named Modern Tire Dealer's 2007 Tire Dealer of the Year.
