GrooveGlove Provides Handy Tread Depth and Alignment Test

Posted on November 3, 2017

The GrooveGlove by Tire Profiles LLC offers laser-powered tire tread depth, plus alignment measurement, from a tool that fits in the palm of your hand.

Tire Profiles President and Chief Operating Officer David Boyle drew a crowd while demonstrating the GrooveGlove at the 2017 SEMA Show.

The handheld device utilizes the same technology as the company’s TreadSpec drive-over products, but it’s a mobile tool that can check the tires of any vehicle anywhere. With a wireless Internet connection, the tool’s software creates a clear customer report, which the company says boosts both tire and alignment sales.

By placing the GrooveGlove on the tire and sliding the device across the tire, the device measures the tire. On the report, each tire is color coded as red, yellow or green to indicate its condition.

The report details the vehicle’s make and model, tire size and license plate, as well as recommendations for tire alignment, tire rotation and braking distance projections.

See the GrooveGlove at the 2017 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show at booth No. 41271.
