DOC postpones China tire tariff determination

The United States International Trade Administration announced that the Department of Commerce (DOC) is postponing the due date for the preliminary determination in its countervailing duty investigation of passenger and light truck tires from the People’s Republic of China to Nov. 21, 2014.

American Tire Distributors loses $49.5 million

American Tire Distributors Holdings Inc. posted a net loss of $49.5 million on net sales of more than $1.2 billion for its second quarter ended July 5, 2014. That compares to a loss of $5.8 million on sales of nearly $1 billion for the same period last year.

ContiTech offers belts for stop/start systems

CRP Automotive announced that it is the first to market with ContiTech replacement belts for applications that use start/stop technology. The new belts, ContiTech Silent Grip and ContiTech Tough Grip, were originally developed by ContiTech to solve specific problems on major OE applications.
