Cooper financials reflect absence of CCT

Year-over-year comparisons for Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. show drops in net income and sales in the first quarter of 2015, but those numbers don't reflect the whole picture, which includes the sale of the Chengshan (Shangdong) Tire Co. Ltd. (CCT) at the end of 2014.

Cooper's net income increased 319% in 4Q

Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. posted net income of $82.2 million on net sales of $819.6 million for the fourth quarter ended Dec. 31, 2014. That compares to income of $19.6 million on sales of $861 million for the same period in fiscal 2013.

RMA says yes to mandatory tire registration. TIA says no

How to effectively register tires has been an issue that has placed the Rubber Manufacturers Association (RMA) and the Tire Industry Association (TIA) at odds on more than one occasion since the late 1970s. It was then that the National Tire Dealers and Retreaders Association (NTDRA), predecessor to today’s TIA, was able to convert mandatory tire registration to a voluntary system.
