Cooper is up across the board in 2Q

Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. posted net income of $38.2 million on net sales of $888.7 million for the second quarter ended June 30, 2014. That compares to income of $35.5 million on sales of $884.1 million for the same period last year.

RMA: Inflate for National Tire Safety Week

The Rubber Manufacturers Association (RMA) is sponsoring National Tire Safety Week, June 1-7, 2014, to focus efforts to educate U.S. drivers about the need for regular tire maintenance. Tire dealers can educate consumers about how under-inflated tires waste gasoline, increase the risk of tire damage and cause premature tire wear.

RMA says tire shipments will rise 2% in '14

Tire shipments are expected to increase more than 4% in 2013 to 297 million units, according to the Rubber Manufacturers Association (RMA). This represents an increase of 12 million units compared with 2012.
