Marangoni RingTreads get SmartWay approval
Marangoni Tread North America (MTNA) reports its RingTread Energeco products, RDA-E for drive tires and RTA-E for trailers, are now both SmartWay approved.
Marangoni offers a complete range of SmartWay-verified RingTread products for line-haul applications:
- Energeco RTA-E, for the trailer tire position with a tread depth of 12/32-inch, SmartWay verified in November 2012.
- Energeco RDA-E, for the drive tire position with a tread depth of 25/32-inch, SmartWay verified in March 2013.
“Marangoni is committed to supporting the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency SmartWay program to promote fuel efficiency and will continue to submit treads for approval,” says Giampaolo Brioschi, MTNA product marketing manager.
The Marangoni Energeco product line combines its splice-less, precure RingTread technology with innovative compounding and advanced tread design engineering for low rolling resistance, high mileage and improved reliability, the company notes.
The Energeco line is part of Marangoni’s Performance Specific RingTread line.
Marangoni RingTreads that are SmartWay verified also comply with requirements established by the California Air Resources Board (CARB).
The EPA SmartWay technology program verifies the performance of vehicles, technologies and equipment that have the potential to reduce greenhouse gases and other air pollutants from freight transport, according to its website.
